20 Years of Cyprus101 – Thank You for Being Part of Our Journey
Resales in Paphos – A Very Active Market!
There has been some encouraging news for the existing property market in Cyprus, with the latest figures showing a particularly strong quarter for resales.
According to a report by Landbank Analytics, resales of existing houses across Cyprus increased by 114.5% in the third quarter of 2026 compared with the previous quarter. The number of house resales rose from 345 to 740, while apartment resales also increased.
Paphos Leads the Way
Paphos recorded one of the strongest performances, with 400 residential resales in the third quarter, compared with 204 in the second quarter – an increase of 96.1%.
The increase in house resales was particularly notable, rising from 59 transactions in the second quarter to 213 in the third.
These figures highlight the continued activity in the Paphos resale market and the importance of established homes alongside new-build developments. They also show that buyers are active across different property types and price ranges.
It is worth remembering that transaction figures do not automatically mean that property prices have increased by the same amount. Every home is different, and location, condition, presentation and realistic pricing remain important factors.
For sellers, the current level of activity provides an encouraging backdrop. For buyers, the resale market offers a wide variety of established homes, often in mature residential areas with existing amenities and facilities.
At Cyprus101, we continue to see plenty of interest in Paphos, with new properties coming onto the market regularly.
Cyprus Property Market: Still Moving!
The wider property market has also continued to perform well. Figures published in October showed that 14,969 contracts of sale were deposited across Cyprus between January and September 2026, representing a 14% increase compared with the same period in 2025.
Paphos recorded 2,999 contracts during the first nine months of the year, an increase of 18%.
Taken together, the figures point to a market with plenty of activity, although individual property types, locations and price ranges can perform quite differently.
Whether you are considering selling, buying a holiday home or making a longer-term move to Cyprus, understanding the local market is an important first step.
What’s Happening Around Paphos and Cyprus?
Paphos Children Learn About Caring for Animals
A lovely local story saw primary school children from the Paphos area visit the PAWS animal shelter in Achelia. The children met dogs awaiting homes and learned about responsible pet ownership and the commitment involved in caring for an animal.
The initiative forms part of a wider effort to help young people understand animal welfare, compassion and responsibility.
Animal Welfare Lessons to Reach More Schools
Building on initiatives like the Paphos shelter visit, Cyprus is also expanding its animal welfare awareness programme to more schools. The aim is to encourage kindness towards animals, responsible ownership and a better understanding of animal protection from an early age.
A worthwhile initiative – and an important lesson for the next generation.
More Electric Vehicle Charging Points Planned
Cyprus is planning to install 94 additional fast-charging points for electric vehicles over the next few years, at an estimated cost of €10 million.
The plans include improved charging coverage across the island, with locations including Polis Chrysochous and Mandria.
As electric vehicles become more common, improvements to charging infrastructure will be an important part of making everyday travel and longer journeys around Cyprus more convenient.
A New Autism Centre Planned for Strovolos
Plans for a new €2 million day centre for people with autism have been announced in Strovolos. The project is designed to provide a supportive environment for people with higher support needs, offering personalised care, opportunities to develop skills and meaningful daily activities.
It is encouraging to see further attention being given to specialist support and more inclusive communities.
Pafos FC: European Nights and Local Pride
It’s been another busy spell for Pafos FC, with the club continuing its European campaign alongside domestic league commitments.
October brought a 1–1 draw against Riga FC in the UEFA Conference League and a goalless league draw against APOEL.
The team’s European journey continues into November, with a trip to FC Twente scheduled for 5 November. We’ll be cheering them on and wishing the team every success!
