Paphos Property News | Lifestyle | Market Updates
Spring has officially arrived in Paphos and there’s a real sense of energy in the air. March is one of the loveliest months on the island — wildflowers begin to bloom, the sea starts to sparkle a little brighter, and the days grow longer and warmer.
February Highlights – Carnival Fun!
What a fantastic Carnival season we had! February was full of colour, music, parades and celebration across Cyprus. From lively street events to family gatherings and festive decorations, the atmosphere was vibrant and joyful.
Green Monday was the perfect finale — blue skies, kite flying, seaside picnics and traditional Lenten treats. These moments remind us why life in Paphos is so special: sunshine, community spirit, and outdoor living almost year-round.
March – What’s Ahead
March brings beautiful weather to Paphos:
- Average daytime temperatures: 18–22°C
- Sea views are stunningly clear this time of year
- Countryside in bloom — ideal for walks and exploring
Key Dates to Look Forward To:
March 25th – Greek Independence Day (Public Holiday)
A national celebration with parades and commemorations.
March is also a wonderful time for property viewings — comfortable temperatures, fewer crowds, and the chance to see homes and gardens at their spring best.
Cyprus Property Market Update – Strong Start to 2026
The Cyprus property market has entered 2026 with impressive momentum.
January recorded the strongest start to the year since 2008, with an 11% increase in property sales compared to January last year.
February 2026 Market Snapshot:
📊 1,411 property sales contracts registered in January (up from 1,275 in Jan 2025)
📍 Paphos led the way, recording a remarkable 25% increase in sales
Limassol remained the highest in total sales volume
High-quality homes in prime locations remain in limited supply
Prices have stabilised rather than declined
New property tax reforms introduced in January 2026 are aimed at modernising transactions and improving compliance, helping to create a more transparent and efficient system.
We are also seeing:
Continued strong foreign buyer interest
Growth in “Build-to-Rent” developments
Ongoing demand for well-located villas and sea-view homes
The market remains steady and demand-driven — not speculative — which is encouraging for both buyers and sellers.
Cyprus Economy & Tourism – Positive Momentum
Cyprus’ economy is currently growing at its fastest pace in three years, reflecting resilience across sectors including real estate, tourism and services.
Looking ahead, Cyprus has approved a National Tourism Strategy through 2035, with an ambitious goal of attracting 5 million visitors annually — but with a strong emphasis on quality over quantity.
The strategy focuses on:
Sustainable tourism development
Green transition and environmental responsibility
Digital transformation of the tourism experience
Reducing seasonality to support year-round tourism
Infrastructure improvements and accessibility
Cyprus now welcomes visitors from over 40 countries with direct air connections, and efforts are underway to expand into additional global markets.
For Paphos in particular, this is excellent news. A steady, diversified tourism base supports rental demand, long-term investment potential, and continued economic strength.
